Our services

Ideally located 3 kilometers after the beautiful village of Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert in the Hérault department and the Occitanie region in South of France, our water sports base has a private and shaded parking lot exclusively reserved for our customers. Once you have parked your vehicle and completed the registration formalities, you will quickly leave with our shuttles to the starting point for the adventure course or as a second option, navigate on our shorter track scattered with little pebble beaches" (round trip from the nautical base).
Our lodge has equipment adapted for the reception of people with reduced mobility.

Shuttle buses

Departures are from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm (approximately every 30 minutes). With a departure at 9:30 am you will be the first on the water! Shuttles with 8 sits and sanitary conditions adapted to covid-19.

High quality equipment

Life jackets (adults and children), double or single paddles and 26-liter waterproof canisters to be placed on a space provided for this purpose on the canoes. The equipment is included in the price.

Our personal touch

Free parking in a private and shaded area. A warm welcome, punctuality and excellent quality equipment guarantee you an optimal day!

The courses

We offer you different routes adapted to your desires and accessible to all. 

Whatever course you choose, don’t forget: your water shoes, sunscreen, 2L of water/person and a snack or a picnic.

Little Pebble beach's

Navigate up to 6km (round trip from the Canoë Borg nautical base to the dam).

Count on an average of 1 to 2 hours, but it all depends on the rhythm of each person and the time of breaks.

The distance covered is free and there is no time constraint.

Adventure Course

Embark for 14 km of navigation in the Hérault Gorges. The longest descent in canoe, exclusively with Canoë Borg.

Count on an average of 4h30 to complete this trip. Ideal to spend the day on the water with friends or family.

You can stop for a picnic and swim on the shaded pebble beaches many times along the way.

Stand-up paddle

The stand-up paddle is an ally for the body and the mind.

If you want to work out while enjoying the landscapes of the Hérault Gorges, this is the opportunity!

Navigation on the Little Pebble Beache’s course.

After crossing the village of St Guilhem-le-Désert, in the direction of Causse de la Selle, drive 3 kilometers along the Hérault gorges. You will arrive at a first Canoe Borg lodge. If it is closed, drive another 500m and the second lodge will be opened.

The water level of the Hérault river will be optimal during the whole summer season 2021.

For the 14-kilometer Adventure Course, a shuttle bus will take you to the starting point (20 minutes) which is located at the Moulin de Bertrand. This course lasts about 4 hours and 30 minutes and the last shuttle leaves at 1:30 pm from the Canoë Borg lodge.
On the other hand, the Pebble Beach’s Course starts from the Canoë Borg lodge and you can navigate up to 3 kilometers (which makes 6 kilometers maximum round trip), you can come at any time of the day.

In both cases, the level of difficulty is easy and accessible to all. Finally, you can park your car in our private, free and shaded parking.

The 14 kilometers Adventure Course lasts about 4h00-4h30 including breaks (swimming and picnic). The Pebble Beach’s Course lasts about 2h30 including breaks.

Please note that there is no time limit, however it is imperative to arrive before 6:30 pm.

Of course, dogs are welcome for free, there is room for them in the middle of the canoe or on the stand-up paddle.

Unfortunately for security reasons this is not possible.

It is not allowed to smoke on board a canoe, but you can smoke on the pebble beaches. Do not forget to take your cigarette butts with you.

To find us with a smartphone, you just have to type “Canoe Borg” on Google Maps. However, it is possible that once in the gorges your phone does not receive any signal… Don’t panic! After passing through the beautiful village of Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert, you will just have to continue straight on for 3 kilometers in the direction of the Causse de la Selle road D4.

Yes absolutely, it is mandatory for adults to be able to swim 25 meters minimum and to be able to put the head under water.

– From 6 years old, children accompanied by 2 parents can do the Adventure Course of 14 kilometers.

– From 3 years old, children accompanied by 2 parents can do the Pebble Beaches Course of 3 – 6 kilometers.

We provide child-friendly life jackets! 🙂

– 1 person : kayak

– 2 persons : double-seats canoe

– 3 persons : three-seats canoe maximum 250kg

All our boats are stable, comfortable and suitable for all types of paddlers: beginners or experienced.

You do not need a guide, nevertheless if you have any question or doubt, our team will be happy to help you.

However, it is mandatory for centers and vacation camps to use our guide who holds a “Brevet d’Etat canoë-kayak”.

Yes, of course! All along the 14-kilometer Adventure Course and the 3 – 6-kilometer Pebble Beach’s Course there are numerous pebble beaches with shady spots ideal for stopping for a swim and a bite to eat.

We accept cash and checks as well as vacation checks (up to 20% of the total amount).

Unfortunately, we do not accept credit cards.

Yes of course, for children up to 12 years old. If you book 24 hours in advance you will get a 2€ discount.

Also, we have a preferential rate for groups or families of minimum 10 people.

In order for the canoe trip in the Hérault Gorges to take place in the best conditions, we recommend you bring water shoes, sunscreen, a bottle of water (1.5L/person minimum), a hat or cap and a picnic and/or snack.

Canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddles, double paddles, life jackets (adult and child sizes), waterproof containers for personal belongings.

Please note that our rate includes the shuttle bus that will take you to the starting point of the 14-kilometer Adventure Course.

Yes, we have a free shaded parking lot where you can park your car and find it when you arrive at the end of the course.

It is strongly advised to make reservations (especially on weekends and holidays) in order to be able to choose the departure time of the shuttle that will take you to the starting point as well as the type of boat:

– Kayak 1 person

– Canoe 2 persons

– Canoe 3 persons

– Stand-up paddle

However, the reservation is not mandatory, you can come to our Canoe Borg lodge the same day.

Yes, there are about ten of them, but they are not technical or dangerous in any way. They make the course even more fun!

No, the courses end 3 km upstream from the village of Saint-Guilhem-Le-Désert and 8 km upstream from the Pont du Diable.

It is strictly forbidden to light a fire in the Hérault gorges to avoid any risk of fire. The gorges are a Natura 2000 site.
